When we headed to Finland, I had no idea what to expect for food. I did know there would be a lot seafood on the menu. Being someone that doesn’t like fish (except when it’s covered in tartar sauce), I was a tad worried about what I was going to be eating for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.Well, I’m pleased to report my week in Finland was one of delish meals. Yes, seafood has a staring role in Finnish kitchens, but so does beef, chicken, and lamb. And, then there is the reindeer, but let’s not even talk about that for fear of upsetting Santa.
Plus, the desserts, ice cream, and chocolates were sinful, rich, and worth every zipper-busting calorie.
One evening following dinner our waiter introduced to the pleasure of Lakka, which is a liqueur made from cloudberries. If anyone knows where to buy it in the US let me know. I’ve been searching and can’t find it.
