Nestled in the Krkonose Mountains, the village of Poniklá is the home of Rautis. It’s here that we first met Bara and Marek. Marek’s family has been crafting glass bead ornaments for over 100 years. Each beaded ornament is made by blowing the glass, then silvering, and assembling by hand. The ornaments are made in the studio and in the homes of village residents in the Krkonose mountain region of the Czech Republic.
